This study aims to determine whether the reliability of brain stimulation can be improved as a treatment for arm and hand function following stroke. Following initial assessment, eligible participants will be randomly allocated to one of two groups:
- Real brain stimulation and 1 hour exercise program tailored by a therapist to target impairments of the hand and arm, delivered for two weeks at home.
- Sham brain stimulation and 1 hour exercise program tailored by a therapist to target impairments of the hand and arm, delivered for two weeks at home.
All participants will attend baseline MRI and clinical assessments prior to beginning brain stimulation treatment. Following completion of the two week brain stimulation and exercise program, participants will attend post-treatment MRI and clinical assessments. Participants will be asked to attend at 1 and 3 months following treatment for follow-up clinical assessments.
