Visual rehabilitation of stroke survivors (research)

University of Technology Sydney, 67 Thomas St, Broadway, NSW, 2007

The aim of this study is to explore the care pathways for stroke survivors in NSW who have visual complications.

Specifically, we aim to determine the details of screening, management and referral for visual impairments in stroke survivors. In doing so we hope to identify any barriers to the appropriate detection of vision impairment in stroke survivors, any gaps in the referral process and potential unmet care needs and their contributors.

Participants must be over 18 years old, based in NSW, have had a stroke within the last 10 years but not within the last 3 months, and some form of visual complication.

Participants will be asked to complete a short survey about their experience post stroke with specific questions around the vision care received. Participants have the choice to nominate themselves to participate in an additional phone interview to gather more details about their post-stroke vision care experience.
