About enableme

enableme is a place to talk to, and seek support from other people who have ‘been there’. It is a place to ask questions, to find the answers that you need and to set recovery goals.

It is a place where you can offer support, encourage others, and share your experiences; because you are not alone, you are part of a bigger community of people who stand side by side facing life after stroke.

enableme is owned and managed by the Stroke Foundation. It has been created specifically for the Australian stroke community.

Supporting enableme

With thanks to our generous sponsors

enableme was developed by the Stroke Foundation in conjunction with many stroke survivors.  It has been made possible through some very generous supporters.

BUPA Health Foundation

Our Founding Partner, Bupa Health Foundation, allowed us to develop and deliver the initial iteration of enableme. This include extensive consultation and user testing with stroke survivors and carers to ensure the site was adaptable and accessible to the many individual users that need this resource. enableme was launched with Bupa in June 2015.

Perpetual Trustees

As an Impact Philanthropy partner, enableme will be enhanced and expanded.  Funding will allow us to assess future user needs following the launch, develop multi-lingual resources and promote these to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities plus a number of communities where a language other than English is the primary language.

Ian Rollo Currie Estate Foundation

The Ian Rollo Currie Foundation supports the delivery of services for Victoria’s ageing population where the occurrence of stoke is at its highest incidence.

Ian Potter Foundation

The Ian Potter Foundation is assisting us to conduct regular evaluation workshops with users and develop new functionalities or enhancements.  It will also help us to implement a significant communications campaign to promote enableme and provide resources to build user community and to develop high quality, relevant content.

Ongoing support

The Stroke Foundation will continue to improve and manage enableme and needs help to do this.
