My podcast - One Year On - stroke recovery and hope

Hi Everyone, I'm Alison. I had an ischemic basal ganglia stroke in March 2024. I've been working hard on my recovery ever since.

I started my podcast "One Year On" when I was one year on from my stroke. I've now published over 52 episodes, one a week on Mondays, about my recovery and what I did during that time.

I've covered all sorts of topics, from my time in hospital, to the speech pathology assessment, the neurologist appointment, blood tests, and cardiologist appointment. I have spoken about my sessions with the speech pathologist, use of the Employee Assistance Programme, brain training apps and getting back to work. I've begun interviewing health professionals and this week I will be interviewing Dr Lisa Murphy, CEO of the Stroke Foundation.
