Researchers are developing a new approach to overcoming Post – Stroke Fatigue.
Thrill Seekers and Fellow Time Travellers, I am not a medical expert, but I can tell you [from personal experience as a Stroke Survivor]] that Post Stroke Fatigue is different from normal tiredness- when having a quick Nana nap can refresh you.
Gang, it can happen after any type of Stroke, the signs vary and as is the nature of Stroke the signals and symptoms of fatigue vary from person to person. Post-stroke fatigue is an ‘overwhelming feeling of exhaustion or tiredness’, not related to exertion, and does not typically get better with rest.
We need effective treatments – We need your lived Experience.
Are you a stroke survivor or do you care for one?
Well, A Newcastle-based team of clinician-researchers at HMRI (Hunter Medical Research Institute) are developing a new post-stroke fatigue approach. Your “Lived Experience” will be invaluable to them as they undertake their research.
Does HMRI sound familiar.
HMRI were instrumental in developing and launching I-REBOUND, an innovative web-based portal providing “After Stroke Resource” to Stroke Survivors. The Lived Experience of Stroke Survivors was an integral part of the development of this After Stroke Resource.
Your contribution to this Research project on Post Stroke Fatigue will be respected, valued and a key element in the soon to be developed approach.
