Since my Left Lacunar Stroke in April 2016, I have been committed to my ‘Giving Back Strategy’ where I attempt to repay the skill and professional curative skills of a group of clinicians who as the nursery rhyme goes “Put Humpty Dumpty back together again”.
As a result of their interactions almost 7 years on, I lead a far healthier, and relatively normal Post Stroke life.
An integral part of that ‘Giving Back strategy is talking to stroke clinicians, both student and practising about my stroke,my rehab journey and my insights and learnings.
Also I have been involved in numerous focus groups, webinars and I have become a prodigious blogger[thanks to the encouragement of Natalie Fini\}
My next appearance as it were in on Monday 8 December 2022 when I am part of a panel of stroke survivors [actually my good chums Julie and Ben] which is to be moderated by the noted and international renowned stroke educator, researcher, Dr.Simone Dorsch.
The subject is “Getting and Staying Motivated in Rehab” and the link is attached

Why I do What I Do
After one of my talks in 2021 I had a conversation with a student clinician which totally encapsulated my motivation to get involved in this activity.I recorded a short clip-on ZOOM which explains the interaction-It is truly humbling. please watch.
