Stroke Survivors address Final Year Physio students.
Today at the invitation of Doctor Simone Dorsch, Senior Lecturer, Australian Catholic University, North Sydney and ,in company with Ms Stephanie Ho \{an inspiring fellow Stroke Survivor\}I had the privilege of relating my stroke journey \{as did Stephanie\} to some 125 Physiotherapy Students via ZOOM conferencing facility.
This is the third consecutive year that Stephanie and I have addressed students about our respective stroke and rehab journey.
The reception from the students was amazing, they were truly engaged, asked many searching questions which resulted in a stimulating conversation.
Questions encompassed a wide variety of topics including our experiences with individual elements of the rehab process, the good and not so good aspects; motivation; goal setting and the importance of a synergistic approach to the rehab process.
As I said to the students the future of physiotherapy as a vocation is well and truly assured with the standard of students that we had the pleasure of talking to today.
In a perverse sort of way this activity is one of the good points of having a stroke!!
