Hi everyone,
My name is Bernard and I'd like to share my experience - if you can be bothered reading it - because it all happened as a slow learning to me. It all started two years ago and I have no memory of it at all.
I was (so I'm told) happy and cheerful and full of life until I said "I've got a bit of a headache" and immediately passed out, became ridged with my eyes rolled back. I was completely unconscious. This was on the 4th June 2021 and I regained consciousness about 10th July 2021. Oh boy, what a lesson, first I had to recognise that I was a human being then had to recognise that my arm and leg had to stay on, then had to recognise that I had a head and so on...
Each day was like a drunken watch and listen episode until it slowly began as a rehab that went on for several months until November when I was finally allowed home.
Since then I have learned what happened to me; " suffered from subarachnoid haemorrhage secondary to left posterior communicating artery aneurysm".
My skull has mended quite well. My right hand side is now partly failed. My hearing, my sight and my speech are slightly out of wack, my walking is with a leg that presses 9lb while the other presses 64lb and an arm that wont work.
Now after two years I feel like a different guy. One who is happy enough, has learnt to shower with one arm, learned to laugh when things go wrong. I’m lucky as my mind is reasonably good and I can communicate quite well. This is my first writing with one hand!
Thank you,
Regards,
Bernard
