Hi Toni! I actually enjoyed reading about the Orcas :-D It certainly puts our fear of Great Whites to shame ;-) I have read this article before. Wow - listening through this now.  So well explained, the part about losing grey matter if cognitive stimulation doesn't occur, frightening.  Plus the part about emotions - wow - wow!

When I began doing Brain Training Games - and this was years after, I felt like I just needed to keep doing them.  It was so stimulating and I could almost feel sparks in my brain firing!  The focus that this bought me was so wonderful! I love sudoko's too and am in the middle of a really difficult one with multiple large squares.

My stroke was in the Brain Stem however I am listening to all this and there are so many cross overs about what I experienced.I like the term of there are many "layers" to recovery.

Listening to this clip is so validating that  25 years ago I did the very best I could at the time, with sparse information, with isolation,with so much grief, with confusion every which way I turned.  The desire I had to heal myself was so strong even though what I was confronted with on a minute by minute basis was so unknown.

Hmmmmmm,, feeling pretty awesome after listening to  this!

Diana, thank you for posting the correct link. I am technologically challenged (this is not due the stroke) and often don't know how to do these things properly. Sue, I am glad that this video helped a bit as well as validated all the hard work you have put in to healing your brain. I found the video extremely interesting and knew that others would too.

Hi Joelv, I am pleased that the video cleared up some things for you. It did the same for me. There were a few things happening after my stroke that my neurologist couldn't explain as he did not believe they were connected to the cerebellum. Although I also had a small stroke in the right parietal lobe he was still of the opinion that I may have been imagining some things. Hearing from others who have suffered cerebellar strokes has helped me immensely as it is showing to me that there is no 'use by' date now stamped on me. Thank you for letting me know that you found the video helpful.
