Often reading posts and my personal experience with others, people go down mentally after a stroke or an attack. That is because you have this thing illustrated in your consciousness as name-form popping up now and then. The name-form is the forerunner to mind. So such people often get negative thoughts and they in turn illustrate the consciousness and this goes in a cycle causing mind stress. Then you keep going down.
The way to arrest this is Mindfulness Meditation. Meditation empower the mind positively so that negatives begin to decrease and over a period you will not be bothered anymore. Mindfulness is the forerunner to Vipassana, the precursor to wisdom.
