Gather My Crew is an online rostering tool that allows you to ‘gather’ (ask for) the practical help you need from your ‘crew members’ (friends, family, neighbours and colleagues). Gather My Crew also lets your ‘crew’ decide when and how they will help.
Gather My Crew is new, but we figure it could be a great help after a stroke. There’s a lot going on when someone is in hospital, and when they get home. Often other people want to help, but are not sure what to do, and sometimes it can be hard for those in need to ask for, and coordinate, offers of help.
Gather My Crew is free and easy-to-use, just follow these three steps to get started:
- List task: choose the tasks you need help with
- Invite your friends: invite your personal network to lend a hand
- Task accepted: your crew accept the tasks they can help with
Benefits of using Gather My Crew:
- For stroke survivors, Gather My Crew can make it easier to ask for help and reduce the sense of isolation often felt during times of need.
- ‘Crew’ members are able to accept only the tasks they are able to do. They are not left having to turn down requests for help or accept tasks they can’t do.
