Things I Missed or Thought
Unimportant or as proof of my fallibility, or because I can’t stop writing.
Leg spasms
These started in the major hospital with cramp pain, and then with less intensity as time went on, in my stroke affected left leg. I would be on my back in bed and my knee would pop up. No pain. I would push it down and the same thing happened every 10 seconds. I tried to think it to stop. No.1 put my leg over it, and it just popped sideways.
It usually only happened once a night, when it stopped I tried to go to sleep. You know the routine – first clear your mind. Not for me, my mind will not be cleared. So I started working till I dazed off.
After a fall I was admitted to a rehab hospital. Doctors suggested a treatment of Botox injections in the upper leg. It worked and I am now spasm free. This may be useful to know for colleagues with the same problem.
