It's World Yoga Day 2026 and I am going to write about how when I began to allow myself that I could try yoga in 2017 (I have been so physically compromised for decades - my coordination, balance and posture was a real preventative to me thinking that I could possibly be included in the yoga space)
Ran it by the GP I was seeing at the time first.
I have practiced so much yoga since then - mainly yin yoga at home - feeling safe on the floor with no where to fall. The determination to continue practising, despite all the obstacles and when I think back to my attempts and getting into some poses back in 2017 to how I practised this morning - quite amazing! My whole body is in a different alignment and I am so grateful for the commitment I have had even when life has been in absolute turmoil for me.
If I could sum it up in a sentence - The continued practice of Yoga has been and continues to be a gift to me.
