In my previous blog posts i have given a brief insight into mindfulness meditation. Now to clarify how it helps in alleviating mental stress, think of a simile. Suppose you have a room in your house, with furniture, bed and other things and keep it closed for a while. One day you open the door and realize that it is dirty. But when you open the windows and let the sunlight come in, then you realize fully as to how much the is in the room. Meditation mindfulness does the same thing. It is like the light you let into your mind and then you see the defilement. Then you slowly with presence of mind get rid of them.
