Dysphagia management and rehab - neuromuscular electrical stimulation

Hi there,

My name is Susie Borg and I am a Speech Pathologist and director at Changing Tides Speech Pathology on Sydney's Northern Beaches. I specialise in dysphagia (swallowing disorders) for adults who have experienced a brain injury such as a stroke. I use a really exciting high tech device called VitalStim Plus, which involves neuromuscular electrical stimulation on the affected swallowing muscles for rehabilitation. Only about 5 other speech therapists in Australia have one of these devices, as training is mostly done overseas (US). I am getting incredible results with my clients, and am trying to 'get the word out' to those people who need it most.
