After my stroke, I had several major issues. I wasn't paralyzed so everyone decided that I must be OK, including the GP I had at the time. She totally refused to treat me for any post-stroke issue I had. This included severe fatigue. I would fall asleep at the drop of a hat and sleep for several hours, even on a kitchen chair. I was sleeping up to 15 hours a day.
Naturally, I changed my doctor who has proven to be my Queen of Hearts. She sent me to a sleep specialist. I ended up in an overnight stay in a clinic covered in monitors and wires where it was found I had 130 leg tremours per hour instead of 13 per hour due to damage in the brain. I have now been put on Armodafinil which has taken some getting used to but I have now gone a week without falling asleep during the day. Marvellous. I guess the message I have found is follow-up on the fatigue as there is a solution in some cases.
