Each session has been a conversation rather than a presentation, shaped by the curiosity, candour, and compassion of the students who attend.
My blog - Top Ten (Or so) Questions....I have been asked about my Stroke by Student Clinicians over the past decade. brings together ten or so of the most memorable questions I have been asked during those lectures, along with the responses I offered at the time. I consider this exchange of questions and answers one of the quiet perks of being a stroke survivor.
When a student asks me something, I give an honest and unvarnished answer. The reactions I receive—thoughtful, respectful, often deeply moved—have been profoundly humbling.
I encourage you to share these questions and answers with anyone in your networks who may benefit from this blog. On previous occasions when I have done so, clinicians have told me that survivors and their families found the material reassuring, practical, and unexpectedly helpful in their rehabilitation journey.
This compilation is offered in that same spirit: a small contribution drawn from lived experience, shared with the hope that it may illuminate the path for others.
