I would definitely go to an ophthalmologist or a specialist optometrist. Also discuss with your GP to see if there are any other issues that may contribute to this problem. An ophthalmologist can check your field of view to find out if there are any issues, plus they would have other tests they can do. If it is changing depending on time of day there is something unusual going on. Usually if you have vision problems caused by a stroke they are permanent. I've got homonymous hemianopia due to a stroke and I've seen a few vision specialists in the last few years.

I have read reports of stoke affecting vision about 30% of the time.   With my aphasia I had a very difficult time explaining that my periphery was gone until I did I Field Perimetry Test with an opthamologist.  Until then the treaters thought I was blind but eventually they worked out that was my ower (or inferior) quadrant was gone and that's why I kept walking into things and falling over.  I couldn't understand and saying 'but I can see'.  Some treaters thought I had gone mad with the post stroke delirium.  Yoou may consider seeing BOTH an opthamologist and a neurologist as i depends where there stroke was

No it's not strange , it's quite normal for some who have had a stroke , just your eyes need focusing , then there all right , me IU have tunnel vision from the stroke , so I have no vison at all , and worst part is I fall asleep , the call that fatigue , usually in the after noon but has happened in the morning too . So yours is quite normal , they refuse to operate because they don't know enough about the brain . Optromitist only knows what's in the book , and yours isn't in the book .

I would definitely get it checked out. There could be several things going on. Some of which may not be connected to the stroke. Peripheral vision is more sensitive to movement than central vision. Reflections of TV from the fan may be perceived as movement in peripheral vision.

Similar to the experience of noticing a flickering light out of the corner of your eye but not seeing it when looking directly at the light.
