I'm having one of "those" days. A day where my brain just doesn't want to come to the party. It started out ok, I was up early, did a few hours' study, but then my brain just stopped. Totally frustrating, I'm a week and a half behind, and I have a week and a half until my first assignment is due (which I haven't started yet because I need to cover the content first!).
I'm a person who likes to add humour to every bad situation, I guess as a way of helping me cope. Whenever I have one of those days where my brain just doesn't want to work, where the fog is settling, I always think about the scene in My Big Fat Greek Wedding where Toula first meets Ian and she states that "her brain just stopped":
So I'm trying to do other things slowly, a bit of cleaning and tidying, got out in my garden and tidied it up a little, getting ready for Easter with my husband's family on Sunday. There's no point fighting the fog or the fatigue, what doesn't get done just won't get done.
One of my favourite songs from the Great War era is Pack Up Your Troubles:
What's the use of worrying?
It never was worth while, so
Pack up your troubles in your old kit-bag,
And smile, smile, smile.
So the fog may have settled, but I'm still smiling and whatever happens, life is still a picnic and there's always time for tea! (kettle's on if you're close by!).
