How vision may be affected after an occipital lobe stroke.
I’m very sorry to hear about the occipital lobe stroke mate. I’m an optometrist with a10 year stroke, resulting in a incomplete homonymous hemianopia. Effectively a lower left quadrantanopia with some left superior loss. Unfortunately we both will have to live in hope of safe autonomous vehicles within our lifetimes. I have followed many stroke vision losses over the years and never seen an improvement except the initial 3 months as the lobe attempts to heal itself. I’m a bit surprised you have as much vision as you do now. The occipital lobe is pretty much fully vision related, not that it’s Any consolation you could be fully blind. The way you describe the loss I would have guessed it was a parietal stroke with some some temporal lobe involvement. The difference is academic of course. The loss is what it is is. A bastard and permanent. My only coping advice is fixate and scan to the bad side when moving. Left in both our cases
