A true perk of being the Consumer Representative with the Centre for Online Health – Centre for Health Services Research, Faculty of Medicine, The University of Queensland, I was invited by Mahsa Haji Mohammad Hosseini to meet with Public Health PhD candidates and share my stroke story, my rehabilitation philosophy, and the insights I’ve gained through Lived Experience.
The students were an exceptional audience—engaged, thoughtful, and genuinely curious about my involvement across the stroke landscape.
Their questions reflected both respect and a deep interest in understanding the realities of recovery and advocacy.
Opportunities like this are central to my Giving Back strategy. They are also one of the true privileges of being a stroke survivor: the ability to turn experience into something useful for others.
