EnableMe | enableme - stroke recovery and support

I am fast approaching 10 years since My Stroke...I was a very fit person who played Golf..Then i had a Major Stroke whereby Doctors told My Family i needed a nursing Home ..I could not speak and My Entire Right side was affected..I had many friends from Golf, And now i am not able to play any more they greet me with love..On one such occasoin i was talking about how i am able hang the washing out..And one person said thats a chore i would care about...She clearly didnt know what that meant to Me..After that i still visit the Club and some really close friends include Me in things..But i have lots of new friends from our Stroke Group who all realised that Life is Never like it used to be..But it can be beautiful still...Jean Hoare.

I assume that your family said no to the nursing home?

It's hard to people to get what you're going through after stroke. How often do you still get to the golf club?

What stroke group are you a member of? Perhaps we can give the group a bit of a plug.
