16 months ago making a coffee at work and I didn't finish doing that. Next thing I knew I was in hospital looking at my wife and daughters who were crying.
Well after months of rehab and support from those around me I was preparing myself to retire because I was no longer able to get my license back due to eye sight issues so believed life as I knew it was over. 10 months from the stroke my employer asked me if I wanted to have a go of returning or call it quits. Well I could not retire not knowing so I had a go and I can not believe the improvement in my general well being once I had a go. The socializing and comradery improved my speech and the activity and feeling valuable again is what changed my life.
I am now back at work on full shift. This is due to some very good work mates who give me a lift to and from work. I am fully contributing to the team and have renewed self value. I still have bad "head days" but get through.
Just remember to let people help and you can achieve so much more
