Hi everyone.
I thought it pertinent to post about not giving up. Yes, it’s tiring, frustrating, sad and bloomin’ hard at times, but our rehab from stroke HAS to be ongoing! Whether it’s days, weeks, months or years, please never give up trying and doing and have faith in your abilities.
I had a mini meltdown last week. Why? Because I’ve been doing too much and trying to be everything to everybody and eventually realised I’m not Wonderwoman and need to slow down for my own health.
I constantly look back and smile at what I’ve achieved since m stroke; despite battling depression and fatigue as many of us do.
This photo popped up today from two years ago when I was a Vintage Calendar Girl for a charity calendar!
Two years on, I am now an accomplished Stroke Safe Ambassador with the Stroke Foundation, a Motivational Speaker and sharing my book A Stroke of Poetry and my ‘Positive Pants’ far and wide. Who would have thought.
Today, I’ve spent a few hours recording a short documentary on what I do which I will share in due course.
I’ve recently been interviewed by lovely Roxanne McCarty-O’Kane who was a journalist I met whilst working on the calendar and would love to share this with you.
For now, please take care of you and never give up!
Much love
Shelagh šš
