A couple of months ago Dianna posted about participants needed for some research being completed that was looking at the use of telehealth methods in neuropsychology following stroke. As someone who was never admitted to hospital or received any rehab services, ever since I had my stroke I have been on the lookout for different projects I can take part in and this was one that appealed to me.
I contacted Jodie, the researcher, and she immediately put me at ease and answered the questions I posed of her. The research consisted of Jodie coming to my home on two different occasions, for approximately three hours each time, to conduct neuropsyche testing; one face to face and the other session being done via laptops as we sat in different rooms.
After about three weeks from the second testing I was emailed a brief summary of my results with my strengths and weaknesses outlined as well as some strategies for improving my weaknesses.
I would highly recommend giving consideration to taking part in this research as I believe I benefited from the feedback I received. Jodie is based at Monash University in Clayton, Victoria, and is willing to travel, I think she said, up to 2 hours from Monash. She also has family in Gippsland so is willing to travel from that base to get to people.
