I will never forget walking with my leg dragging, and will never forget the look on my mum and dads faces, who were thinking the worst!
As a child, I did not understand how sick I was.

I will be forever thankful to my family and friends for being there for me and putting up with the “fish”.
(my floppy arm/hand).
I have slowly come to realise that things really do happen for a reason and I would not be who I am today if I did not go through everything that I did, and that I still go through to this day.
It was extremely hard back then, nothing compared to the support you get today. My dad worked full time to keep us afloat, my mum was my rock, and my sister had to get on with her life as a teenager with her family upended.
Words will never describe the gratitude I have for my family. I have such a special family, they put me first for many years, every day, I want to recognise them for that.
