Well it's been six months since I had my stroke and recovery has been pretty good.
I keep looking at what condition I am in and think I am roughly 95% okay but that last 5% can be a real pain at times.
The stroke took out my left arm and affected my left leg and left side of my face and it was only through fast treatment by the doctors that it wasn't permanent.
I now have good control of my left arm and hand but with tremors remaining when performing everyday things like lifting items, holding glasses/drinks and eating. It can really show up when typing or playing games on the computer as the fingers will be trembling quite visibly.
I have a slight hitch in the left leg when walking or jogging a bit but it doesn't affect my life as much as the hand tremors do.
Left side of the face has just a slight change to sensation/touch which isn't really noticeable unless I think about it.
So that's the physical side which has been improved from day zero, and while I still have problems, I will just have to keep working on it to deal with them.
The other thing is cognitive changes. How do you recognise if there has been a change in the way you think? It's like trying to look at the back of your head without mirrors to help you.
Though I do find that I can see some changes in my writing. I am not as prolific as I was before the stroke. Will this be a long term change or is it something else? I don't know yet but I at least see there may be a problem and that's the first step.
But it's not all been improvements. I have been left with severe fatigue. Emotional, and physical, mainly.
Trying to get motivated is hard at times and I have to fight against the feeling of just lying in bed and sleeping. That's the emotional part.
Physical fatigue is showing up when doing minor exercises like walking and shopping. Doing chores around the unit like cleaning is also being affected with being forced to take breaks regularly which makes it much harder to complete them.
The physical fatigue is exacerbated by feelings of dizziness when leaning over so that will be an ongoing discussion with my GP.
So at the moment I would put things at a ranking of 8/10. Good improvements and recovery but still a way to go.

Thank you for reading and hoping you continue to recover and feel better going forward.
