I suggested that this was what could be found on likely planets. I think I borrowed this from a scientist who is investigating their biology and the steps needed to form a reproducing entity.
On T.V., I saw someone with a moving trace of fairly constant height said to represent cosmic noise, and occasionally a large flash indicating unknown energy – as said.
So the slime is replicating. O.K. but any atmosphere is too thin to burn the random cosmic material which crashed into the planet.
Also geological forces move the earth surface and cleaves in unpredictable ways.
And we have ample evidence of small scale extinctions and of large scale ones which killed almost all life on earth.
So I think our paleontologists are right when they assert it and they do that any life is unique to its place of development.
