Dear Stroke community, I guess we live in challenging times (COVID, lock-downs, life itself, our recovery, etc.). I was chatting to my wife this morning and we were reflecting on our journey so far and what helped us most. Having each other for support was the most important component, but our long walks were another key component.
So, now, I'm making a commitment to walk the Tan (3.827 km around the Botanical Garden in Melbourne) once a month (say every 3rd Saturday morning at 10am of each month) as soon as COVID restrictions are lifted.
If anyone is interested to join us, please let me know and we can meet at the Tan. Of course, it would be great if other stroke survivors around Australia get together where ever they live.
I know that there are annual events when people walk a specific distance and it is usually a charitable event (I think SAV has something on every year, but not sure), but this would be more of a social event and checking on each other that we are OK.
Your feedback/ideas are welcome - thanks. Take care and stay safe!
