So it seems I was a ticking time bomb. For years my body was slowly on its way to an explosion in the left artery in my neck leaving me with a complete occlusion and my right side GONE! I was literally bushwalking
I had my stroke almost 5 months ago and I cannot thank Allied Health enough in my recovery. Having other stroke survivors to talk to was an enormous comfort. So much so that I wrote a blog that I hope other stroke survivors, carers and anyone else who wants to learn how quiet the symptoms were before the bomb in my neck went off. Please feel free to read it. I am a teacher so I couldn't help myself but to design a recovery plan that anyone can download to contribute to their recovery if they cannot gain access to rehabilitation services.

To me I thought life was just normal for my age, putting on weight, getting tired, all the perceived usuals. Thankfully I'm still here and close to a full recovery to help bring awareness to this silent catastrophic event and I'm so grateful for, enable me, for the resources and endless knowledge.
