The most important phase of mindfulness building in meditation are the aspects of feeling if tactile sensations in the body, and then seeing your breath becoming so soft that you lose feeling of it.
From here you move on to your body and seeing it with mindfulness, the four foundations of it plus the space element in it. Then you see other bodies same way and begin to realise that after all, you being thinking of a I view about this somatic body, but other bodies too are of same foundation. Then you begin to lose your self-conceit and the Self-View. One who achieve that stage will also relinquish doubt and will not try wrong rituals and practices. So keep at meditation, your best friend leading you to purification.
