I had major brain injuries because lots of different parts of the brain were affected with my stroke, hence I have Aphasia. It is a problem with using and understanding language.

One big goal is improving my communication - particularly speaking, writing, reading and understanding. In fact, every post has been authored by me. Definitely my words and thoughts, but little help with my wife and my speech therapists. They are helping me with my grammar; consequently my speech is 'work in progress' still.

HI Paul

A great post about your appreciation for the people who have helped you with your language and speech.

I agree - the work that goes into the team to get us survivors back on track is something we need to acknowledge and appreciate.

In relation to your little boy - our children who are aware of my stroke and still birth of their older sister prior to their birth are now 21,19 and 15 they know their mum is someone who shows emotion, compassion, determination, humor and is caring.  And our fifteen year old is here now and has helped out with that description, so I think it's accurate!

They also know my husband was a major part of my rehabilitation and recovery.  It's our families story!

Keep smiling Paul :-)
