What a remarkable way to spend a morning.—welcoming not one, but two internationally respected stroke researchers and educators into my home: Associate Professor Simone Dorsch from the Australian Catholic University, North Sydney, and Dr. Praveen Kumar, Associate Professor in Stroke Rehabilitation at the University of the West of England, Bristol.
We spent the morning discussing the remote rehabilitation techniques that Simone and I have developed over recent years—approaches grounded in evidence, practicality, and lived experience.
To my surprise (and amusement), they even asked to film me doing Sit‑to‑Stands, balance routines, and stepping exercises.
Nearly ten years after leaving the rehab gym, the movements were still there, ready to be called upon.
A quiet reminder that disciplined practice leaves a permanent imprint
