April 2026 marked ten years since I experienced a Left Lacunar stroke—a pivotal event that transformed my life and set me on a decade-long journey of rehabilitation, reflection, and renewal.
Recently, I’ve compiled my writings, notes, blog posts, and personal reflections into one document titled A Life Rewritten.
This 57-page PDF follows my life before the stroke, the incident itself, my lengthy recovery, and the insights that have shaped who I am today, including contributions from people I have worked with on my journey.
Initially, I shared the memoir only with a small circle of colleagues and friends in the Stroke community. Their responses were incredibly generous, thoughtful, and deeply humbling—far beyond my expectations.
After posting about the memoir on LinkedIn, interest surged, and I’ve now received OVER 60 requests from Australia, the UK, the USA, and elsewhere. These requests came from academics, researchers, clinicians, survivors, and even senior specialists like the Head of Thoracic Surgery at John Hopkins Hospital and my project colleagues at Yale University.
Thanks to their encouragement, I’ve decided to offer the memoir to anyone who feels it may be valuable—for personal reflection, teaching, clinical practice, or simply to gain insight into another survivor’s lived experience.
Stroke shows us that every journey is unique, yet each story may help someone else along the way.
If you’d like a copy of A Life Rewritten, please email me—I’ll happily send it to you with my warmest wishes.
