In a previous blog I wrote about the concept of “Key Moments” which in the context of a Rehab journey were instances which, if capitalized on could provide valuable impetus or benefit to a Stroke Survivor’s rehabilitation.
One such occasion is leaving the hospital to go home to your family and the familiar surroundings that you have been away from since the occurrence of your stroke.
It can be a challenging journey, you are leaving a place where there is order; a routine for your daily life; your rehab is being administered/monitored by skilled clinicians, in short in many instances you just “did what you were told”
Now you are going to your home, where you are on your own \{in a many of speaking\}, you will be forced to do your rehab in company with yourself, your family.
In addition, there are many other issues which will emerge, and you will have to overcome but all is not lost! A source of help is at hand!
A group that I follow on Twitter “Different Strokes UK” undertook research on this “Key Moment” and they recently published a report which I found interesting for Stroke Survivors and their families or carers and it is attached.

Please take the time to read it, it may help you or give some important insights. Plus, I have also attached a link to a blog which I wrote on this very subject.
Happy Trails, Boys and Girls.
