Hi Setton, didn't they say why you were given the ticket? I can see by the photo that it's well worn & I'm not sure it's the right way around? I'll have to check mine🙂. If you go to a Service Centre (RMS) the cards &/or the holder can be replaced.
I'm not saying the tickets right but maybe look into possible reasons?
One foot in front of the other😉 Julie
Ok, I'll start by saying, this permit is well travelled, between carers, family and everyone in between, this card gets it's fair dose of usage. Well loved, yes, tattered, yes, legible, yes and in date, YES. I will admit, maybe time for a replacement, we all know what this means.... a date with the parking permit God's, a rehab session in itself. So, if, the condition of the permit was the issue. .... wouldn't an empathetic note under the wiper advising "Dear customer. We have noticed that your parking permit looks a little distressed. It might be advisable to obtain a replacement before you attract a potential fine". Rather than slapping a $580 fine based on the use of an invalid permit. Ho hum, I'll get off my soap box now. I know you can contest it, however, this means transferring the fine from the person driving to myself and then photocopying and sending fine details and waiting almost 2 months for an outcome, great. I am wondering if the Mayor is sharing my bewilderment?
UPDATE...
Had a lovely date with service New South Wales to obtain a refreshing new permit.... they were so empathetic..... My letters to the mayor's office, Willoughby Council and everyone in-between (I know, Alfa move) paid off. The reason for the fine was the pass was deemed illegible. OK, I'll cop that. The fine has been overturned. A good result to say the least. A new pass is being sent to me as we speak, so hopefully this will not reoccur.... unless my memory has a moment and I've left it on the windscreen of another car.
