On Monday,3 November , 2025, StrokeEd hosted a highly informative and engaging webinar titled "Design Your Own Rehab - A Discussion for Stroke Survivors," which was skillfully moderated by Associate Professor Simone Dorsch.
Associate Professor Simone Dorsch is a renowned physiotherapy clinician, researcher, and educator, bringing over 30 years of expertise in stroke, brain injury, and aged care rehabilitation. Her extensive experience and knowledge significantly contributed to the depth and quality of the discussion.
I was honored to join three other stroke survivors, Stephanie Ho, Emma Gee, and Thomas Graham, as members of the webinar panel. Each of us shared our unique post-stroke journeys, providing a diverse range of perspectives and experiences.
The event attracted an international audience of stroke survivors, carers, and clinicians, all drawn to the compelling theme of the webinar. The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive and generous, highlighting the event's impact and relevance.
Throughout the webinar, several common themes emerged from our discussions. These included the shared experiences and challenges faced by stroke survivors, as well as the critical importance of personalized rehabilitation strategies and the power of motivation in recovery.
The insightful discussions underscored the need for tailored rehabilitation approaches, emphasizing the significance of addressing individual needs and goals. The power of motivation and the role it plays in the rehabilitation process were also key points of focus.
