I had a stroke in January 2020 at the beginning of COVID at the age of 53. I was attending clinical pilates as part of my recovery when a friend in my class, who is a retired golf professional suggested that I might be able to learn golf. I had never been interested in golf, and I didn't think I would be physically able to do it, but I decided to give it a try. Twelve months later, I am very much a beginner who is enjoying the physical, social and fun aspects of the game and sharing this experience with family and friends. Having an activity that I enjoy and look forward to has been good for my recovery. I still have physical limitations and fatigue challenges and I use a cart to assist with mobility. I live in the South East suburbs area of Melbourne and I would be interested in meeting or hearing from other people who are playing golf after stroke and may be interested in having a game.
