It is advisable for internal experts and a few major stroke units run the show with a majority of facts taken from records and opinions gathered by clipboard carriers.
But why take any notice of me when I say there are no carers in acute stroke units and in the next few sentences record their numbers? Easy, the number of “carers” would have to be found by talking to senior stroke unit staff who would direct their work.
- how many carers do you have?
- Two of our staff are responsible for checking the stroke health of every stroke patient taking care of them every day in the hospital. After this they work in the stroke unit.
Is this enough of carers?
How do I know this? During my first stroke hospital stay, my carers were two neuros and a student who track me down every morning as I shifted from ward to ward. They had no problem in knowing that I would be transferred to a rehab hospital after 30 days, giving me unwanted advice on my choice.
A couple of critical staff did not seem to get a mention in the 2017 report. Nurses and social workers ! in fact, if all mention thrombolysis was deleted, hardly any people data would be left.
The sections on ambulance are the best.
