1 CommentsThe sad news...
Like most communities, here in Geelong we were very sad to see the amazing Barwon Stroke Support Centre close down last year. The centre was the main peer support group provider in our region and as a result there is no longer a formal support network. This has left our stroke survivors feeling lonely and isolated.
The good news...
A few of the Geelong regions proactive and dedicated stroke survivors have teamed up with Neurological Physiotherapy Geelong to bring this group back together - and keep them together!
We are inviting all Geelong and surrounding township stroke survivors and their loved ones to get together;
When: Thursday the 17 of August from 1.30pm-3.30pm
Where: Neurological Physiotherapy Geelong, (Shop 1C 110-122 High Street, Belmont). There is parking out the front and disability friendly access
What:
- Meet or reconnect with other stroke survivors
- Have a cup of tea and snack while socialising
- Discuss what the Geelong region peer support group needs
- Determine the long-term plan for this important group
- Have a laugh and some fun
Please spread the word and share with anyone you think may be interested in attending this group on the 17th, and ongoing. Please note; we do not have a list of past members of this group so are reliant on the details of this event being shared amongst one another so that no one misses out!

We look forward to seeing you in person and getting this wonderful group back together!
