Your greatest contribution as a stroke survivor may not be what you lost, regained, or achieved. It may be the hope your story gives to someone who is just beginning their own journey.
When I experienced a stroke at the age of 68, my focus was naturally on recovery.
Like many survivors, I was concerned with rehabilitation, rebuilding confidence, and adapting to a life that had suddenly changed in ways I could never have anticipated.
At the time, I believed the journey was primarily about regaining lost abilities and learning new ways to navigate everyday challenges.
What I did not appreciate was that my experience could become something much more valuable.
I did not realise that my story might one day help another stroke survivor.
My blog- Your Greatest Contribution As A Stroke Survivor May Be Your Story.....The Unexpected Value of Lived Experience outlines my thoughts on this subject…please enjoy and repost it to a stroke survivor who may find the subject interesting.
