Has anybody had to get there the license back?
Hi Alex, I had to do my driving test again, with the help of my Occupational therapist. Also, as my vision was affected, had to submit a report by my GP and Optometrist to Vicroads, two years in a row. Now ok, but I avoid driving at night. Another thing I'm conscious of is that I could get lost in an unfamiliar city. But, there are navigation apps to assist. Take care!
Hi Folks,
I looked to get my driving licence back after about 18 months post stroke.
Started with a GP visit, then finding a driving OT specialist. She was great, organised it all including driving lessons to get me back on track. I have to use a spinner on the wheel and auto transmission so no expensive modifications needed. The whole process took several months and around $5000. The NDIS paid for it all which was a big help, as it was more expensive than my old Toyota.
Started driving again when all the Covid issues first hit. So haven't done any long road trips.
Cheers Luke.
