I believe that anyone using the term “independent living” in the article without defining it, should be banned from having it peer reviewed because of lack of scholarly integrity. I have written about this before but if it is worth saying once it is worth saying twice.
The army of carers could soon bring a breath of reality to this nonsense.

The term independent brings up many thoughts to mind.
When I was standing "independently".
What I really wondered was did I feel safe and secure in my stance? And the answer to that was no - not really because such emphasis was put on the ability to DO IT and then push me on to the next stage, rather than how I felt about it and what it meant.
So even if one is living independently - do they feel safe and secure with their independence?
There is a big difference.
