Has anyone started having seizures after stroke and had prescribe epilepsy medications at max dose? Is this temorary or permanent? Do these medications effect person in sence of not been as bright as usual with slow to learn and hard to remember what you learn few days before which is happening after doubling dosage to max.
Seizures are common for a serious stroke victim , and yes been on anti fit medication for 7 years , they work to an extent , they also put you on cholesterol tablets after a fit and if your unlucky you get blood thinning tablets and the usual paracetamol and a second fit tablets . Then you get the ordinary in your a diabetic , some bowel tablets , may be a heart tablet . Quite a few , about 20 pills per day for the rest of your life . For me 25 pills a day .
I'm horrified. 25 pills a day? I have seen my brother given 8 medications in span of 3 hours. How do you stroke people suppose to get better with all these drugs loaded into your system every day? Food in hospital is shocking. No fresh fruit or vegetables or milk or cheese. Nutritious long life flavored milk drinks and nutritious snacks as substitute? Everything is solved with another pill and another pill. List grows. Now I'm really worried for my brother. Before stroke he would not take even headache pills. Food can be solved once he get out of there. I wonder about that hole after trachia tube. How long that heals? After 4 months he still has a hole in neck.
Yes seizures happen but was the anti epilepsy drug given because nothing else is available to control your spasms , yes am on 2 types to stop spasms and they also are for seizures too . You should be on chlorestol tablets too .
