On november 28th, 2022 i had a stroke. I am now in on march 16th, 2023 i have nausea and anxiety and i am suffering. 4 months of severe nausea n anxiety. I cant do this anymore! On march 30th i will c a Psychiatrist . Do u know if the Psychiatrist well help me?
Just a side effect from the stroke , best to see your GP who will write a prescription for you to feel better , Am sure the ansiaty is related to your upset stomache , a relaxant wont hurt you , but only take what the doctor subscribes .

Thanks to garrylawson for already commenting on the post. Garry makes a good point in always talking with your Gp or specialist about any medication you take.
A Psychiatrist can certainly help with anxiety management and will talk with you about your medications and managing the impacts of your anxiety. A psychiatrist specialises in mental health. They are qualified to assess both the mental and physical aspects of issues such as anxiety, and they can also prescribe and administer medications that may be of some help. This is a good specialist to be linked in with.
Have you spoken to your GP about a Mental Health Care Plan? This can assist you to access a number of psychology or counselling sessions at a Medicare rebated rate. This way you can also seek a psychologist who can work with you to develop strategies to best manage your anxiety and the impacts this has been having on you. They can help you to find what works for you. This might be something like mindfulness or meditation or even strategies like deep breathing exercises or exercises to help ground you when you are feeling really anxious. A Psychologist can also help with ongoing counselling to make sure you are continuing to be able to manage your anxiety and set goals for the future.
