So, if you missed them or want to view them for the first time, they are still available to watch - Right here!
Both of these webinars had a truly international flavor as in addition to clinicians, carers, and fellow stroke survivors from Australia, there were viewers from the UK, USA, Ireland, Singapore, Nigeria, Venezuela, and several other countries that I have forgotten.
So, it is worth watching them again. Some of you will have the opportunity to discover their wisdom for the first time.
Thrill Seekers and Fellow Time Travellers in late 2023 together with two fellow stroke survivors I participated in several webinars conducted by StrokeEd\{ a leading Australian Stroke Collaborative\} which attracted a worldwide audience.
A thought came to me today on my urban safari [my 6 am walk] that whilst the subject matter of these two webinars was well received months ago, their key messages were just as pertinent and relevant today and into the future. The level of interest among the stakeholders was simply amazing.
Hence, Gang, I decided to create this blog and revisit these two digital events.
I encourage any clinician, stroke survivor, or carer who has not watched these webinars to take this opportunity to watch them.
But first let me introduce our illustrious Webinar Moderator and Host.
The host and moderator for each of the Webinars was an Associate Professor. Simone Dorsch, a noted Stroke Educator [. Australian Catholic University\} and a director of StrokeEd, a leading Australian Stroke Collaborative. Associate Professor Simone Dorsch regularly conducts workshops in the U.K., Asia, and South America and is highly regarded as a leading researcher/educator in the Stroke World.
Gang, the first Webinar to consider is “ Getting and Staying Motivated in Rehab”
This Webinar included Ben Schelfhaut [from England\}, Julie Davey and me, all Stroke Survivors, and moderated by Associate Professor Simone Dorsch.
The discussion targeted therapists stroke survivors, and carers providing strategies to promote motivation during rehabilitation and beyond. To view the panel discussion, simply click on the link – Motivation and Rehab.
The second webinar conducted by StrokeEd is The Brain that Changes. Neuroplasticity and Stroke Rehabilitation.
In May 2023 I had the privilege to be alongside my fellow Stroke Survivor, Stephanie Ho, as panellists on StrokeEd’s Webinar “The Brain that Changes. Neuroplasticity and Stroke Rehabilitation’.
The Webinar aimed to provide a clearer understanding of Neuroplasticity, discuss the research, and how to apply these Principles for a more successful stroke recovery.

More about StrokeEd.
Whilst I regularly participate in Stroke Ed’s webinars, workshops, and other stroke related activities, I am a very public supporter of the clinicians who are its strength. They are in my opinion, leaders in their field of expertise in the Australian Stroke landscape.
The StrokeEd collaboration is an Australian registered company and education provider. Members of the collaboration offer evidence-based workshops and lectures to improve the skills, knowledge, and practice of rehabilitation therapists, and influence the delivery of rehabilitation services to stroke survivors.
