It is almost a year since I last wrote a blog on mindfulness. But the latest from ABC News on the mindfulness of youth in Australia is rather disturbing.
Mental health concerns increasingly common among young Australians, report finds.
https://www.abc.net.au/news/olivia-willis/8045132. It further says, "
The latest youth mental health report from Mission Australia and the Black Dog Institute has found rates of psychological distress among young people have risen 5.5 per cent in the past seven years.
These findings are consistent with other recent reports, and paint a concerning picture of worsening mental health in young people.
The question now at the forefront of researchers' minds is: why?
"To be quite honest, people really don't know," said Helen Christensen, director of Black Dog and professor of mental health at the University of New South Wales.
"We are still in the dark as to why mental health and suicide risk has increased in our current cohort of youth, a finding that is not unique to Australia," she said."
It is not necessary to be in the dark as I see because such mental stress is a mind thing. But how does mind form? The mind forerunners are the illustrations of Nama-Rupa or Name-Form in our consciousness. increasingly in our planet earth the human consciousness is getting negatively illustrated with name-form. The traumatic incidents taking place all over the world only make more and more negative illustrations in our consciousness leading to negative minds, the cause of all the trauma in these youth.
The solution to this is not more research or more drugs or more therapy, but a simple thing. Mindfulness Meditation. Mindfulness Meditation enables one to build mindfulness and concentration and that is the forerunner to mind happiness and no more trauma in humans.
