Have you heard about the great work that researchers at Royal Melbourne Hospital have been doing?
In a ground breaking trial, the researchers combined existing stroke treatment (thrombolysis) with advanced imaging and new stent technology to remove the clot.
The research which was recently published in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) proved the effectiveness of the new technique, which almost doubles the chances patients will walk out of hospital.
The trial was stopped early because of the efficacy of the treatment.
