Bob, I love your writing. My stroke has left me unable to read books, short articles is all I can manage, so I break your writing into 'chapters' and revel in the way you string your words together to invoke, in my mind, imagery and poetry all in the same sitting.
Your last sentence, re the water's lovely, above summed up my Sunday. I was at Venus Bay, in Vic, where the waves were thrashing around like I had never seen before and at that moment they were mirroring my emotions. It made me thankful that I could find things in nature that reflected how I was feeling and remember commenting to my husband that the water was stunning and how I felt a part of it.
Best wishes for your remaining treatment
Toni
Thank you so much for you're lovely words! I've built up a bit of regular readership, but I have no idea who is reading, so it's nice to hear from you. I know Venus Bay well, we spent 8months there when we first moved over from Scotland, and I had a job running the bar at The Cavity. The family photo on the blog was taken on Beach 1, but if I can get a park I prefer going up to beach 4 or 5 away from the crowds. We're often down on holiday weekends etc visiting family down there. Next time I'll buy you a coffee!
What a coincidence...when I first saw your photo on here I thought you looked familiar so maybe taht is why. Venus Bay is my retreat to a quieter world. Definitely let us knwo when you are around and if we are there you can come round for a coffee! We have a place on Jupiter Blvd and try to get down every second weekend at least.
