I made a mistake. We want to get 60-year males to eat healthy food to avoid stroke. But we have to do this through their wives or carers who do the cooking. The plan is to get our dieticians society friends to approach private and public cooking schools to select one to do the menus. When costs of printings and photography are in, we can approach the Comm. Govt. for a grant, on the basis that if a number of people at risk are saved from death or a life time disability and cost to their families and the health system, from acute care hospitals, to rehab hospitals and Medicare rebates. It would be a morally commendable thing to do as well as helping the budget some money. I could convince health dept. to contribute, so for the N.S.F. It should be a snack.
But hang on, how does it work? Simple. At the bottom of the inside last page in small print is “supported by all the groups mentioned”. So it isn’t free? “That’s right” but you can’t buy them. That’s right, so how will it be distributed? I’m glad you asked. Pause, to silently record another change of mind.
Easy, load a car up with the magazines and display holders in the major cities where you have a branch. Approach every retail outlet for meats, chickens, fish, pasta, fruit and vegetables.
“Hello sir, we are contacting shops like yours with this food recipe magazine which you can give to your customers as a reward for shopping from you. They are only available from retailers like you, would 10 be enough to start with?” “Hang on, who produces them?” “They are sponsored by and paid for by health organizations and the Comm. Govt.” “O.K. put them here”
Health is only mentioned once. Dietitians keep it like that.
P.S. It is not suggested that N.S.F. staff do the main distribution work, only that, as a matter of prudence, they verify the system. (Due diligence)
After that, two or three staff would be appointed per major city, and set up with offices and net communications in the suburbs. O.K.?
P.S. repeat orders will prove that distribution is working. Cover the home state in six months. Have D.D at end of the year. May have to wait another year to get stroke stats. Don’t worry this program can do no harm, and may help with diabetes and obesity problems. Developed by dieticians and food technologists for tasty food cooks, with Govt. support.
